Black people: Gangs
Brown people: Terrorists
White people: “Militia”
So I watched some of the first presidential debate last night. I believe Joe Biden speaks for 60% of the country when he said: Will you shut up man?!
Watching Trump throwing back to back temper tantrums reminded me of this quote: ““Never play chess with a pigeon. The pigeon just knocks all the pieces over. Then shits all over the board. Then struts around like it won.”
Every time you think it does not get anymore un-presidential than this, this orange fascist surprises you by acting like an even bigger idiot than his last circus.
So I’ve been really busy these past few weeks. Bought a new house, put the daughter back in school, and hosted sister’s wedding. Yes! You heard that right! Hosted a party in my new backyard, in the new neighborhood, with over sixty people attending, in the middle of a pandemic. Yup. I bet my neighbors already love me. The entire neighborhood turned into a big parking lot for my guests.
Anywho, now that it has calmed down a bit and the presidential debate are on, I’ll be around here a bit more.
Life as a Kurd-American is complicated. I am left of the center, but I also am a gun owner. Whenever someone asks for my political beliefs, this is how I describe myself:
Day two of work after about six months.
University of Alabama just reported 566 COVID-19 cases in the past five days. Life is about to get “interesting”. Also, this morning, I put triple antibiotics on my brand new toothbrush head instead of toothpaste.
This is probably one of the dumbest decisions I’ve made in my life. And that’s a lot coming from a dumbass like myself. But, it is what it is. Our offer was accepted and we are officially under contract.
With the election, the pandemic, the social unrests, and this piece of shit in the White House, let’s see what happens next.
Here is to those who dare, eh?
There was this guy, right? Arsalan Vakili, my mom’s cousin.
Born and raised in Sanandaj, Kurdistan, Iran. He was probably in his early 50s now.
An OG in his own right. Born to nothing, grew up dirt poor, fought his way out. Made a something outta himself ya know.
Well, my sister just told me he was beaten to death by some assfuck land grabber with connections to the fucking government.
As simple as that. Two kids, decades of struggle, a human fucking life, perished just like that. No consequences, no justice, no nothing.
Fuck that cursed land.
His name was Arsalan Vakili.
I just read NBC is doing an hour-long new episode of 30 Rock. Pretty exciting, eh?
What I do not like is, this seems to be a promo for NBC’s streaming service Peacock.
Back in the days, Netflix was a groundbreaker. We all happily paid the $6.99/mo to get access to all the excellent content we so craved. No more torrenting and pirating. There was no point in downloading shows anymore.
Fast forward to today, I consider myself a cord-cutter who does not watch too much television. Still, we have Netflix, because well, it’s Netflix. We also got Prime Video because it comes with our Amazon subscription. And of course, we have Disney+ because we have a four-year-old at home. Oh, we also have Apple TV because it came free with our new Apple devices… the list goes on! Add to that HBO Now, YouTube TV, Spotify, CBS All Access, etc., and you need 25 different subscriptions to be able to watch most of what you want.
And that’s why my friends, I have gone back to paying for an anonymous VPN subscription. Back to the high seas with me!
